Complications can occur during the course of normal labor. These can occur during first stage when there can be- non progress of labor i.e. inadequate cervical dilatation or inadequate uterine contractions, non descent of head, maternal stress, or fetal stress, in that cases delivery has to be expedited either with medications or cesarean section. In second stage depending upon the circumstances , delivery of baby can be assisted with forceps, ventouse or cesarean section. During third stage there can be delay in the delivery of placenta and membranes, which should be managed properly otherwise it can lead to post partum hemorrhage and other complications affecting maternal health adversely.
It is very important to forsee these complications and take the measures to prevent them. Sometimes these are not predictable, then proper management of these complications helps in better maternal and fetal outcomes.
At our clinic we take utmost care in preventing, diagnosing and managing these complications.
